Throughout his lifetime Jim was an avid fisherman, meticulous wood worker, loved riding his Harley Davidson and enjoyed anything geography and history related. A well-traveled man, Jim had been to all of the continental United States and loved to reminisce about his fond memories of his travels. Surviving are a sister, Annamarie Vagnoni, Millville; and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late William A. He attended Coatesville Schools and was last employed by Lakeside Park Beverage in Barnesville. He is survived by his siblings Donald Campbell, Tina Thomas, Kenny, Michael and Kim Kryworuka as well as nieces and nephews. Joseph W. Shema, 88, recently of Cypress, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 21 at Sterling Oaks Rehabilitation in Katy, Texas. Born in Tresckow, he was the son of the late Frank and Ida Shema. He was a graduate of Hazleton Senior High School, class of 1952.

John R. Damiano
He was preceded in death by his mother Connie and an infant daughter. He is survived by his wife of 53 years the former Juanita Mace, nephews and niece Thomas, Eric, David and Karen as well as cousins. Born in Coaldale, PA on September 15, 1954, David was a son of the late David C., Sr. and Margaret A. Burrell. A 1972 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he attended and graduated from Ryder Tech in Allentown, PA. He retired from Air Products in Hometown, PA where he was employed as an electrician. David was a member of the Lansford Park Commission and St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua where he was currently serving on Council and previously served on the Property Committee.

'Tina' Skwierz, 63, of Tresckow, passed away Monday afternoon, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late John and Regina Skwierz. Tina was a Freeland High School graduate, class of 1977, and of the Roman Catholic faith. Prior to retiring, she was employed at the White Haven Center for many years.
Frank Paul Castellana
He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas F. Burrell in 2018. Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with Vicar Dillon Epler officiating. Interment in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Willing Street, Tamaqua will follow the services. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his son, William, in 1980; his twin brother, Robert and his wife, Carol; and brother, John.
She had been employed as a CNA having last worked for Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville, until her retirement. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 11 a.m. Eileen was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal Brennan High School. She then worked as a police officer for the city of Philadelphia.

Nancy J. Moyer, 83, of Orwigsburg passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, while at her daughter’s home in New Ringgold. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hometown Nursing Home and Dr. and Mrs. Mark Lobitz and staff for their excellent care of their mother and grandmother. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville is entrusted with the arrangements. However, Frank’s true devotion was to his children and grandchildren. He could always be found at all of his grandchildren’s games and events.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 16 years, Krista Smyrl; daughter Crystal Smyrl of Swoyersville; and aunts, uncles and cousins survive. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob’s Memory are asked to be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital. Beege was also a lifetime member of the Shenandoah Heights Fire Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, and above all he loved spending time at his paradise, "The Land".
He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua. Preceding him in death, were his wife Eleanor Damiano; sisters Nancy Jelenewicz and Mary Costanzo; brothers Carmen, Ralph, Thomas, Maurice and Joseph Damiano. After returning home from the service, he attended mortuary school. John became a licensed funeral director in 1951 and established the Damiano Funeral Home in McAdoo. After serving families for many years, John retired in 2013. He was also employed at the Schuylkill County Courthouse for years and served as a former Deputy Coroner of Schuylkill County.

John G. Lucas, 70, of West West Terrace, Branch twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2022, with his family by his side at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
Dorothy J. Yanoshik, 87, of Lofty, passed away peacefully on November 25, at the Manor at St. Luke Village, Hazleton. Born in Lansford on July 4, 1935, to Luka and Mary Scrbacic. She was a graduate of Lansford High School and was a seamstress for many years. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers Steve and Luke Scrbacic; and sisters Katherine Puskar, Helen Coladonato, Agnes Erbe and Lucy Reece. Joan A. Bucknovic, 86, of McAdoo, passed away suddenly Sunday at her home.
